Disaster Emergency Response

During the communal riot, the most affected are the people living below poverty line. They lost their houses, their livelihood and also did not have the bare means for survival. Their houses were damaged and ransacked and their means of livelihood were taken away. With no roof above their head and no means to support themselves and their family they were left stranded and desperately looking for help to survive. There were some help from the Government, but that was so minimal that majority of the affected family hardly received any relief.

IEA, with their team of highly efficient Program Manager, Facilitator and Village Animators surveyed the entire area, took stock of the situation and provided Emergency Relief for immediate Survival of the survivors of communal violence.

IEA provided the families with groceries and ensured minimal food security for survival. They made sure that none of the affected families were left empty stomach.

IEA also assisted permanent construction and repairing of houses to the survivors of Kandhamal.  Time bound activities were taken and implemented in war footing. About 300 no. of families were being supported for partial and fully damaged houses. These had been hugely helpful to the beneficiaries and provided great relief to the victim families for their protected stay and day-to-day living.

The beneficiaries thank God for all the support they have received and they are ever grateful as they will no longer has to live without food and shelter. The family members are worshipping and sitting in daily devotion prayer by rejoicing with Lord. They are ever grateful for God’s love for these families during the time of calamities.
