Chintana Sunamaji

Chintana Sunamaji is a Minority Christian tribal boy of Mahagudi village of Tajungia GP from a remote village under Daringbadi block of Kandhamal District. His father Late Solman Sunamaji has passed away. His mother Kalibudi Sunamajhi is the only person who manages the family with daily wages.

Chintana has passed matriculate this year with 84.3% marks. He is a hard working and honest boy.

He received intimation from BJB Junior college for admission in Intermediate (+2 Science) Class on 20th June'16. We came to know him through one of our network. He was in a very difficult position to bear his educational expenses and we were approached after he failed to arrange the admission fees. He needed at least Rs. 5,000.00 including bus fare from Daringbadi to Bhubaneswar.

Secondly he needed assistance of someone who can help him in admission at BJB College- a prestigious Institution in Academics, because he is not familiar with BBSR. Thirdly he was ready to study but his financial situation was the biggest hurdle that pulled him down to dream about his higher studies further. IEA instantly came forward to help him otherwise he will not have been able to study.

IEA is also happy to inform that Chintana Sunamajhi has got admission in +2 Science in BJB Junior Autonomous College through our generous and timely help. He is happy being at BJB. He thanks us for the support extended to him and in all that we could do for his furthering his studies and thanks us very much for our generous support. At present he is continuing his +3 Science Studies and holds aspirations to pursue his Engineering in Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. He needs support at this crucial juncture for his future Remedial Coaching.

Chintana Sunamajhi is one of those Christian Minorities students who never get the chance to excel in their academics due to abject poverty and poor financial background despite scores of Government Programs and Scholarships are in place and structure for Christian Minorities students. Circumstances push them to being drop-outs without having the second chance to think and reach out to someone who can help. IEA feels this is one of the ways of Empowering Students in Education and bolster their future. There is indeed a great need to awaken the Christian Minority Community through Sensitization, Awareness, Training and Capacity Building so that the Community keeps track of the neediest Christian Minorities students eager to aspire a better future in Education and Employment. We thank our Partners who could be a part of this initiative in carrying the common goal with India Evangelistic Association, Cuttack, Odisha, India of protecting and serving the Christian Minority Community at large in Education, Livelihood, Sensitization, Awareness, Training, Capacity Building for Rights, Privileges, Entitlements and Good Governance especially for this State of Odisha who continue to remain in the lowest rank of States of India as per the United Nations Human Development Index.
