Richa Nayak
Richa Nayak was just 3 years old when she lost her father in the communal riots of 2008 in Kandhamal, Orissa. Her father, Late Samuel Nayak was a an evangelist who preached the gospels to locals. As such he became the prime target of the rioters. Their whole village was looted and burnt. Her father was among the many who lost their lives that day.
Richa’s mother ran away to the nearby forest with her daughter and two sons. Although the riot was over in a few days, the trauma that it inflicted was to last for a lifetime.
They fled to Bhubaneshwar where Richa’s mother started working as a housemaid. Understandably her earning is not to sustain the four members of their family. Seeing their condition, IEA got Richa enrolled in the Good Shepherd Children’s Home, Bhubaneswar.
The two brothers got admission in a government hostel in Pipli. Although painful, The family had to bear the pain of separation for the well being of the children. However Richa is worried that she might not be able to continue her studies and that her dreams will never come true for the lack of financial support.
An anxious Richa requests, “I appeal to all generous hearts out there for continuation of my support as I stay in this Home. I thank God for providing for all my needs. My heartiest thanks to India Evangelistic Association for supporting us in our afflictions. Our story is shocking and my life might have shattered if I weren’t supported in the time of crisis.”
Richa is a student of Class 4 and has shown promise in many areas of her studies. It would be a shame if her education had to come to an end for lack of funds. She requires an angel who could contribute just Rs.800/month for her. Do you have it in you to become that angel?
